Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Program

The Intermediate Program at Islamabad College for Girls, affiliated with the Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE), Islamabad, has been offered since 1965. This two year program, based on the Annual Examination System, is designed to equip students with a strong academic foundation, preparing them for higher education and professional excellence.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Policy for Intermediate / HSSC Classes

As notified by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Islamabad Basic Eligibility Criteria On-merit Admission to Intermediate Classes is open to students who have successfully passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent examination, provided they meet any of the following categories:

• Daughters of Federal Government employees residing in Islamabad / Rawalpindi.

• Daughters of residents of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

• Daughters of diplomats stationed in Islamabad.
Proof of ICT Residence: Candidates who have passed their last examination from an institution located in Islamabad or its federal area must submit a Residence Certificate issued by the Estate Office / CDA or any other valid legal document in support of their claim.

General Admission Instructions

Admission Notification The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will issue HSSC admission notices within 10 days following the declaration of the FBISE SSC results. The college will process admissions strictly in accordance with the schedule announced by the FDE. Seat Allocation Determined by the college in consultation with FDE, based on faculty strength and infrastructure. Single Admission Cycle Admissions are made once per academic year, after the declaration of results, as per the schedule notified by the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

Gap-Year Applicants

• Must submit Gap Certificate on Stamp Paper

• Must submit an affidavit of good conduct from the last institution attended.

• Five (05) marks per gap year will be deducted from total marks for merit calculation.

Cambridge / GCE Students

Students who have appeared in Senior Cambridge / GCE O-Level examinations must submit a valid equivalence certificate issued by the IBCC (Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), at the time of admission.

Foreign Students

All foreign applicants must submit their admission applications through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan. In cases involving a change of education board, a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) is mandatory.

Discipline Clause

The Principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any student whose past conduct or academic behavior has been unsatisfactory.

FATA/FANA Domicile Rule

Candidates domiciled in FATA/FANA will not be eligible under the reserved quota if they have passed SSC/HSSC from outside these regions. However, they may be considered if seats remain vacant.

Sports Quota Admissions

Candidates applying under the Sports Quota must submit valid and verified sports certificates issued by the relevant Board or National Authority.

Hifz-ul-Quran Bonus

20 additional marks will be awarded to candidates who submit a verified Hifz-ul-Quran certificate from a recognized institution.

Guardianship Clause

If the guardian is not a parent, a legal affidavit/guardianship certificate is required. Accepted guardians: grandparents, elder siblings, and uncles.

Subject Change

No change of subjects is ordinarily allowed. In extreme hardship, a change may be permitted within two weeks of commencement of classes, and only to an equal or lower-merit group.

If less than 20 students opt for a subject it will not be offered and students will have to choose another subject from the same group.
